NEW CLASSES Will Start 7th July 2025 --- email: info@amershamdogtrainingclub.co.uk
LATEST NEWS FROM OUR CLUB
At the Amersham Dog Training Club we run classes from Puppies through to Intermediate Plus at the Amersham Common Village Hall on Monday evenings. We welcome all dogs and their owners in Amersham and the Chilterns.
Our training instructors help our members teach their dogs important life skills using science based non aversive positive reinforcement methods. Our aim is to create a fun, relaxed and supportive experience for people and dogs that builds the special bond between them.
In addition to our classes, we organise monthly walks and social events for both dogs and their humans, making our Club A Happy Place To Be!
Our Club is a not for profit voluntary organisation affiliated to The Kennel Club and has been running since 1962. All our training instructors and assistants volunteer their time and expertise of many years training and working with dogs.
We look forward to welcoming you to our Club.
OUR CLASSES
We run classes at four different levels starting with Puppies through to Intermediate Plus and we welcome all breeds and ages of dogs. Our training instructors and assistants follow positive reinforcement methods that are science based, with emphasis on creating a rewarding and fun experience for both dogs and humans.
Classes run on a 7 week cycle. Class times are 18:10, 19:05, 20:05, 21:00
Very proud Club members with their training instructors. Silver Award, February 2025
Established in 1992, The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Training Scheme is the largest dog training programme in the UK. The scheme is open to all dogs, young or old, pedigree or crossbreed. Dogs do not need to be registered with The Kennel Club to take part. The scheme promotes responsible dog ownership by teaching owners to train their dog for everyday life situations. There are four award levels: Puppy Foundation, Bronze, Silver and Gold.
You can find out more about the scheme and about being a responsible dog owner in The Kennel Club's Canine Code booklet under our resources page.
Training at our Club covers all elements required to pass the Kennel Club assessments. We encourage our members to take the assessments. Even though our Puppy and Foundations classes cover a lot of the required elements, it is usually members in Intermediate and Intermediate Plus that enter the assessments.
